Oliver Senior Centre’s mission is to promote development and improvement of the mental, social, and
physical well being of Senior Citizens by providing a venue for socializing, recreation, entertainment and education through:
* physical activities such as dancing, fitness sessions and floor games
* participation in board and card games, playing pool and Bingo,
* information sessions and workshops of interest to Seniors, and
* social coffee, lunches, dinners and other social events.
Regular Activities
We are open for:
Ladies Keep Fit Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30; Ends in April
Co-ed cardio/strength and chair fit Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 and 2:15 respectively; Chair Fit ends in April
Line Dancing Thursdays at 9:30 (beginners) and 10:30 (advanced);
Carpet Bowling Mondays at 10:00; Floor Curling Wednesdays at 10:00; Ends in April
Social Coffee weekly at 9:30 am on Tuesdays;
Bingo Fridays (doors open at 10:45, play at 1:00).
Cards:
Cribbage is Wednesday afternoons starting at 1:00.
Bridge is Thursday afternoons at 1:00.
Games Day:
Tuesday afternoon is open games day starting at 1:00. Players choose what to play from a large variety of board and card games, including Mexican Train Dominoes, Rummicub, Scrabble, and many more.
Music and Dance:
Wednesday afternoon open mic/Jam BY DONATION 1:00
Line Dancing Thursdays at 9:30 (beginners) and 10:30 (advanced);
Saturday Morning Dance 10:00 with the Senior Volunteer Band
Pool is open for drop-ins from 9:30 -12:30 and 12:30 – 3:00, Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings 9:30-12:00 when there is a morning Dance.
Drop-ins are welcome most days/times to work on a jigsaw puzzle in the lounge/library or to swap books or puzzles to take home. We do have some bookings reserved for the lounge/library so call first if in doubt. (This space is not available Tuesdays 9:30 – 11:30).
