Fashion Show Success, 35th Anniversary and Seniors Week Events
The fashion show was a great Success!
We are so proud of this wonderful event, chaired by Moira Bryce with her excellent committee and many many volunteers including kitchen, cooking, cleanup helpers, models, team leaders, decorator, florist, ticket takers, 50/50 sellers, musicians, donations coordinator and many more. A special thanks to the Oliver Ambassadors Candidates, who provided serving help.

SENIORS WEEK AND OUR 35TH ANNIVERSARY IS NEXT WEEK! Our June Calendar and Seniors Week Activities and events are below. Most regular activities will be free for seniors week. Get your tickets for the Pancake Breakfast (free if you are over 90, married 50 years or retired 35 years) for $10 at the Centre! The Seniors Week dinner and dance will be $20, music by our Senior Volunteer Band, and tickets are selling now!
We are raffling a beautiful quilt made and donated by Greta Holt. Tickets are $5 at the Centre and limited to only 500. Get yours soon! Volunteers are welcome to help sell tickets – talk to Moira fora book of 10 to sell in your Park, Church or other community.
The Pioneer Art Show is now hanging in the main hall and annex through June 12th. Primarily done by those who settled as pioneers in the Oliver area, these paintings are family heirlooms and not for sale. A reception and viewing will be held this Saturday, 1:30 – 3:00, or drop in any time we are open except Friday afternoon.
The next art show, to be hung June 13th, will be “Contemporary Art by, for, or about Seniors” and all pieces will be for sale. The opening reception date will be later in June, TBA. If you are an artist or a member of an art group and would like to have a show at the Centre please contact Julie Russell for information.
