November was good to us (with a couple of hiccups)!
We had a very nice November with increases in our activities, more people coming to the Wednesday Music Jams and Saturday dances and some fun events. Floor curling started again with a fun-loving and enthusiastic group of players. Drop in Wednesday mornings – play is from 10:00 – noonish.
First of all we want to thank Expert Hearing Solutions (5717 Main St #135, phone +1 250-498-2966) in Oliver for the lovely chairs they donated to the Centre. They have made it easier to sit in the foyer/waiting area and to remove boots in our cloakroom. The Ladies Keep Fit group really appreciate them on these snowy mornings.
Our second Pool Tournament of the season on Monday the 28th drew 22 participants who had a lot of fun! Pool tournaments are usually held here in September, November and February.
Music Bingo and chili supper with Kelly Wheeler had the crowd singing and laughing. Our Line Dancers provided entertainment during the breaks. We will certainly do this again!
A Pot Luck supper introduced some of our long-time members and some of our new members. The food and company were great and conversations were lively! We hope to make this a bigger welcome to new members in the future.
Along with all that fun, we struggled with the failures of both our reverse osmosis water filtration system and our washing machine. The water system required a whole new tank installation and flushing the entire drinking water system, which was out of service for a while, and the laundry units had to be replaced, which should be happening by the end of this week.
